RENR 468 - Management and Conservation of Genetic Resources
This course will provide an overview of principles and issues involved in conserving and managing plant and animal genetic resources from both global and regional perspectives. Lectures will be supplemented with case studies that focus on the maintenance on genetic components of biological diversity, and the application of genetic methods to resolving conservation challenges.
Prerequisites: YukonU BIOL 220, U of Alberta BIOL 208, or an equivalent 2nd-year Ecology course.
Registration restricted to students in B.Sc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences program. Non-B.Sc. ENCS students interested in taking RENR 468 should contact the ENCS Program Advisor, Dr. Katie Aitken, at kaitken@yukonu.ca, for registration information.
