Orientation activities

Whether you are a new or returning student, studying online or in-person, you are welcome to join us for the Fall 2024 YukonU Orientation Day on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 9am to 3pm.

You will not want to miss this awesome day as we have got a lot planned for you including a warm welcome from our staff and students, a campus tour, healthy lunch, a chance to meet other students, fun activities and a draw for some great prizes! Welcome

9:30am - 10am | the Kaff

Join us for a warm welcome from our YukonU Elders, staff and students.

Meet and greet

10am - 11am | Classrooms

Meet your fellow students and faculty members for an hour of games, information and Q&A.

Campus tours

11am - 12pm | Ayamdigut Campus

Explore the campus to learn about the services and spaces available to all students.

Lunch

12pm - 1pm | the Kaff

Enjoy a BBQ lunch and recharge for the afternoon social activities.

Hand Games

1pm - 2pm | the Pit

Learn and play Dene Hand Games with your fellow students at the Pit! This is a drop-in activity.

Adventure in the Woods

2pm - 3pm | YukonU trails

Join the Yukon Conservation Society to learn about the different trails around Ayamdigut campus and explore our beautiful landscape. Registration required but drop-in may be available.

Campfire Games

2pm - 4pm | Roddy's Camp

Join us at Roddy's Camp to play some games, roast marshmallows, and hang out with your fellow students. This is a drop-in activity.

Wildlife Preserve Tour

1:45pm - 5pm | Yukon Wildlife Preserve

Hop on the bus and join the tour to the Wildlife Preserve with your fellow students. Explore the different Yukon wildlife species and spend an afternoon of fun. Registration is required for this activity.

New student checklist
This checklist will help guide you through the start of your studies at Yukon University:

 Refer to your Letter of Acceptance to confirm the first day of your classes.

 Familiarize yourself with other Important Dates.

 Register for your courses online. Be sure to register early as enrolment in most courses is limited and courses may fill quickly.

 Sign up for Fall 2024 Orientation Day

 Refer to your Letter of Acceptance for payment deadline fees. For more information on payments, withdrawals and refunds please refer to our money matters page.

 Apply to Campus Housing online

 Purchase text book(s) from the Campus Store online, or in-person at Ayamdigut.

 Order your student ID card.

 Apply for financial supports and student awards.

 Explore your online learning tools: Moodle, Office365, Zoom, etc.

 Familiarize yourself with University expectations.

 Connect with your YukonU Student Union. The student union is here to support you, please reach out at any time!
