Students Receive Awards at Special Reception
Whitehorse –Winners of scholarship and bursary awards will be celebrated at a special awards reception on Thursday, November 18 at Yukon College. The ceremony will take place at the Yukon Arts Centre where the recipients will meet their benefactors. Recipients of the following awards will be honoured:

George Walker 8th International Congress on Circumpolar Health Scholarship

Yukon Electrical Company Bursary
Yukon Outfitters Award
President’s Award for Research Excellence
Yukon/Stikine Regional Science Fair Scholarships
Yukon College Entrance Awards for Yukon High School Graduates
Yukon College is building its endowment fund, now at $147,450, and is distributed through the Yukon Foundation. New donors include Yukon Electrical Company, First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun, Yukon Outfitters Association, and Sysco Edmonton. Yukon College matches donations to the Endowment Fund up to $15,000 per year.
“We are privileged to see that our donor list is growing and that the Yukon College Endowment Fund has made a significant increase in its donations”, says Terry Weninger, Yukon College President. “Our new endowment wall is a tribute to Yukon College and those individuals and corporations in the Yukon who are dedicated to ensuring a higher standard of education.”
