Registration open for YC Kids Camps

WHITEHORSE – Registration opens this week for a new season of YC Kids Camps between June 16 and August 15. Crackling Chemistry, Atomic Atmosphere, Gears and Grinders, Superbots, Slimy Science, and Rhythmic Rock Stars are just a handful of the 31, week-long camps based at Yukon College’s Ayamdigut campus.

2014 camps are likely to sell out even earlier this year, thanks to a streamlined registration process. Unlike previous years, where detailed registration information was required for each camp, parents now only have to fill out detailed camp paperwork once per camper, and then tick off which camps their children wish to enroll in.

Alongside the core Science, Trades, and Technology Expedition Camps, this summer will see the return of new favourites launched last year – “Best-of” Camps, Get The Beat Music Camp, and Munchkins Expedition Camps. New this year is a Try the Trades Camp and two new Leadership and Recreation camps, Leaders in Training, and Confident Coaching, aimed at youth aged 12-15.

Camps are each $190.00 plus GST. Funding assistance may be possible through the Kids Recreation Fund at Sport Yukon - www.sportyukon.com/. YC Kids Camps are made possible with the support of the Advanced Education Branch of Yukon Education, Science Adventures at Yukon College, and Actua.
